A support group under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Grassroots Movement for Tinubu (GMT) in Ondo State, says its mobilisation will help deliver the highest percentage of votes for President Bola Tinubu in 2027 election

The Director General of GMT, Hon. Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, stated this on Tuesday in Okeagbe, Akoko North-West Local Government, while inaugurating the group’s executives for the wards and local government.

Yusuf-Ogunleye, who appreciated the Minister of Interior, Mr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his support towards the group, said the inauguration of the local government and ward executives was to strengthen grassroots campaign.

The D-G said that the inauguration of the state and ward leaders commenced in Akoko North-West to honour their sponsor, Tunji-Ojo, who hailed from the local government.

Yusuf-Ogunleye tasked the newly inaugurated leaders to mobilise support for President Tinubu at the grassroots level.

“We have come to preach to them the gospel. What Mr President has done in the last three years, the achievements of the Federal Government, and the reason why they must come in to support the president and they are here.

“They continue to tell our people, the villagers, our mothers, our parents, they continue to tell them in our language, in our dialect, what the President has done, what the President stands for, and what we stand to benefit from the election of Mr President.

“They must first of all know what he has done, for this country, for them, and what they stands to benefit from the election,” he said.

The Secretary General of GMT in the State, Mr Rasheed Badmus, praised the vision and support of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

Earlier, the newly inaugurated Akoko North-West Coordinator of GMT, Mr Azeez Awe, said the group was not only in the state, but across the country.

The Deputy Chief Whip of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr Oluwatoyin Japheth, said the group was solidifying the grassroots to ensure that Tinubu was reelected, saying, “work has started and it’s high time the good works are propagated.”

Mr Afe Felix, a member of the State Assembly, who just decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC, said that the good work of the President and the Interior Minister endeared him to the group.

Another member of the Assembly, Mr Fatai Atere, praised the leadership style of Tunji-Ojo, assuring of total victory for the President in 2027.

The Chairman of Arigidi/Erusu LCDA, Ojo Abiola, who spoke on behalf of those inaugurated assured of good work to deliver on the given mandate by the group.

In Ikare, Akoko North-East Local Government Area, the local government and ward executives of GMT were also inaugurated by the Director-General, Hon. Yusuf-Ogunleye.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the local government area, Hon. Musa Kasali, said: “We will deliver 95 per cent for Tinubu in Akoko North-East.
