Osun gov’t declares Tuesday work-free day for PVC collection

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared Tuesday, July 28, 2026, a work-free day for public servants to enable them to collect their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the upcoming elections.

The directive applies to all categories of state workers, including local government staff and employees of state-owned tertiary institutions.

According to a circular issued by the Head of Service, Elder Ayanleye Aina, the measure ensures public servants can fulfill their civic duty during the state’s forthcoming gubernatorial and general elections.

However, workers on essential duties such as medical personnel and security staff must maintain shift arrangements to prevent interruptions to public services.

Urging residents to take advantage of the opportunity, Adeleke advised all registered voters across the state to visit designated collection points promptly.

“I encourage all registered voters to reach all the collection points without delay. Your vote is your power. Your voter’s card is your license to the ballot paper and, by extension, to the ballot box,” Adeleke said.
