Uzodimma, Masari, others lead APC national campaign council for Osun election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially constituted its National Campaign Council and sub-committees ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.

The development was contained in a press statement released on Sunday, July 26, 2026, by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, following a notice issued by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru.

The campaign council is chaired by the Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma. Serving alongside him as Co-Chairmen are Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas.

Additionally, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, Hon. Ibrahim Kabir Masari, will serve as Deputy Chairman, while Deputy Senate President Barau I. Jibrin has been named Secretary of the Council.

According to the ruling party, the council brings together key party leaders, state governors, members of the National Working Committee, principal officers of the National Assembly, federal ministers, and federal and state lawmakers from across the country to steer the campaign toward victory.

To ensure effective operational efficiency on the ground, the party has established specialized sub-committees covering election planning, finance, grassroots mobilization, logistics, security, media, and special interest groups.

The formal inauguration of the National Campaign Council and its sub-committees is scheduled for Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Event Centre in Abuja at 12:00 PM.
