Traders at the Igbonna International Market in Osogbo, Osun State, on Thursday endorsed the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

During the endorsement event, Oyebamiji donated ₦10 million to the Igbonna Market Women Cooperative Society to boost the businesses of its members.

The APC candidate promised that if elected, his administration would empower market women with soft loans and grants to support their enterprises.

“Be rest assured that if elected, I will support your businesses with soft loans and grants.”

“Your businesses and cooperatives are crucial to the economic growth of our state, and I will not disappoint you. I will not deceive you; I will fulfill all my electioneering promises. Your show of love for me today will be rewarded, and you will not regret voting for me,” Oyebamiji said.

Speaking at the rally, the Director-General of the Osun APC Campaign Council, Hon. Woleke, urged market members to vote for the party’s progressive agenda in the August 15 election, assuring them that Oyebamiji would deliver on his promises if elected governor.

The Secretary of the market, Temitope Okunoye, who spoke on behalf of the traders, stated that the endorsement had the full backing of the market leadership, headed by the Babaloja-General of Osun State, Chief David Iyiola.

“We are here to endorse our incoming governor, Bola Oyebamiji. On behalf of my boss, Chief David Iyiola, the Babaloja-General of Osun State, and with the support of everyone in this market, we have unanimously endorsed him.”

“I urge the members of this market to come out en masse and vote for Bola Oyebamiji in the August 15 election because we need a lot of development in this market, and our incoming governor has promised to deliver,” Okunoye said.
