Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has stated that his administration has performed beyond the expectations of critics who predicted he would not achieve much during his tenure.
Governor Adeleke disclosed this on Thursday at the inauguration of a 12-kilometer section of the 33-kilometer Ejigbo-Iwo intercity road in Ejigbo, Ejigbo Local Government Area.
In his remarks, Governor Adeleke said, “They once predicted that we wouldn’t perform, but I surprised them. I have delivered so well. I want to commend our royal fathers for your backing. I remember all my promises to the Ogiyan of Ejigbo, and I will fulfill them by the grace of God.”
“I want to assure you, my father, the Ogiyan, that you will commission the entire Ejigbo-Iwo road once it is fully completed. I love you all, and I thank you for your support.”
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works, Bello Bashir, disclosed that the Ejigbo-Iwo road is a 33 km intercity network connecting over seven communities, including Ejigbo, Ilawo, Iwata, Ijimoba, Alagba, Iwo-Oke, Ibarapa, Amere, and Iwo.
He noted that the reconstruction of the road was divided into two segments. The first 12 km stretch, featuring a width of 7.3 meters, was awarded to two contractors: De-Log Construction Company Limited (6 km) and Messrs Time Building and Construction Limited (6 km), both of which are now ready for commissioning.
He added that the 10.7 km Ejigbo-Isoko-Aiye Oguro-Oyo State boundary road has also been approved and will be divided into two segments to ensure speedy completion.
Bashir further noted that the Ejigbo-Ika-Orangun and Gaa-Gbonka roads, totaling 4 km, were also reconstructed by the Adeleke administration.
He emphasized that all roads within the axis have been built in strict accordance with engineering standards and specifications.
In his response, the Ogiyan of Ejigbo, Oba Oyeyode Oyesosin, lauded Governor Adeleke’s administration for executing the road projects, which had long been a major concern for the community and its environs.
He said, “With what Adeleke has done, I want to tell my subjects who I know always listen to me and understand my language that we are going to cast all our votes for Governor Ademola Adeleke.”
