Osun 2026: APC supporters troop out for NIWA boss, Oyebamiji

The supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State on Tuesday trooped out to show solidarity with the party's leading gubernatorial aspirant, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji ahead of the APC primary election.
The supporters of the party gathered in large numbers at Osogbo township Stadium for a unity walk, marching through popular Ayetoro, Igboona, Old Garage, Olaiya, and Ogo-Oluwa to show solidarity with Bola Oyebamiji, the Managing Director/CEO of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), in his bid to emerge as the party's candidate for the 2026 gubernatorial election.
Speaking, Former Commissioner for Local Government Chieftaincy Affairs, Adebayo Adeleke said that Bola Oyebamiji is more acceptable among all other aspirants of the APC.
He described Oyebamiji as a perfect gentleman with financial expertise who can strengthen Osun State's economic situation.
According to him, "the unsolicited support for Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, real crowd, Osun people, members of APC trooping out to say, for real don't rob us. This is the man that can send away the dancing Governor out of Abere.
"The crowd is marvelous, even on the street, people were like, Wow, where did they come from? And this crowd from particularly from Osogbo, assuming we now mobilize from all the local government in the state, every corners of Osogbo will definitely be locked down.
"We are happy for this. It is obvious that Bola Oyebamiji is the candidate to beat. We are ready and prepared for the primary election, any day, anytime we are ready.
"There is no aspirant in APC that is not a competent aspirant. They are all competent. But what we are saying, is Bola Oyebamiji is above all when it comes to APC as we speak, he is more acceptable, a gentleman, knowledgeable, and a financial expert. He is the one that can strengthen the economic situation of Osun."
Also, Kehinde Ayantunji SA to former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola said that the APC use the road show to tell the party leaders that Oyebamiji has the majority and most acceptable.
He said, "We are all out to thank Bola Tinubu, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, our party apex leader Chief Bisi Akande and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola for standing by the party since 2022 that they have lost Governor election and you can see that their support is reflecting our party is wax stronger on daily basis."
Meanwhile, former Speaker, RT. Hon. Timothy Owoeye commended President Bola Tinubu for given them platform to operate as a politician and for leading the country in a right way.
Owoeye said that unprecedented performance and development in Nigeria by President has giving them confidence to troop out for the unity walk in Osogbo.
He said, "We shouldn't have get this confidence to walk this far from stadium to this place, and we mean this unity walk in order to tell the entire state, in order to tell the entire country that APC remain the party to beat in 2026 and in 2027 and as a matter of fact, it's a way to further tell the people that Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji remain the only aspirant that APC should be looking at coming this 2026."
