Osun 2026: Accord Party reveals plan for Adeleke

The Accord Party has indicated that it is ready to receive Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, should he choose the party as his new political platform ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
This comes after Adeleke reportedly resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to prolonged internal disputes within the Osun chapter.
Speaking in Lagos on Wednesday, the Lagos State Chairman of Accord, Mr Dele Oladeji, said the party would welcome the governor without hesitation.
“We are simply waiting for his official declaration. That is all we can say for now. Whenever he chooses to announce his move to Accord, we are prepared to receive him,” Oladeji stated.
He described Accord as a calm and dependable political structure, free from factions or godfather domination.
“Accord is one of the most stable and sanitised platforms in the country. We have no factions and no godfathers. Any serious candidate who joins us between now and 2027 can be assured of a peaceful and reliable structure,” he said.
Oladeji added that if Adeleke eventually joins the party, its members would unite to support his re-election efforts.
“If he steps in, we will be ready to work with him and ensure his victory at the polls,” he emphasised
