A veteran journalist and former Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun, Modupe Sarafa-Yusuf, has declared that she is not.afriad of anyone in her bid for the Ogun State governorship in 2027.

Speaking on her second attempt at the office, she dismissed concerns over the financial war chests of her opponents, asserting that political success is not solely a product of money.

She noted that her ambition is rooted in a mission to manage growth with equity.

“The race does not always go to the swiftest,” Sarafa-Yusuf remarked, emphasizing that she is not intimidated by the prominent juggernauts within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

She argued that the party must look beyond noise and prioritize electability, inclusive development, and a leader who can serve as the glue for a fractured political structure.

Addressing the narrative of identity politics specifically the fact that both she and the incumbent are from the Remo division—Sarafa-Yusuf stated that geography should not preclude ambition or fairness.

“I am from Remo and I own that with my chest,” she said, but questioned why gender fairness is not given the same weight as zonal sentiments.

She pledged to focus on new ideas to solve long-standing issues like the lack of potable water and decaying road infrastructure, asking why the state’s political space remains dominated by the same old politicians who lack answers to basic developmental questions.
