The Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu, Daniel Bwala has labeled former presidential candidate Peter Obi a transactional politician-in-chief.

Taking to his official social media handle on X, Bwala released a video of the former Anambra State Governor, accompanied by a caption accusing him of leading a digital following characterized by a delusion of grandeur.

Bwala further alleged that Obi’s supporters, whom he described as online trojans, possess a distorted sense of judgment influenced by the former candidate’s political posturing.

The friction intensified following claims by Bwala that Obi had previously attempted to recruit him into his campaign team during the lead-up to the 2023 general elections.

This assertion was met with a swift and firm rebuttal from the Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR). Ibrahim Umar, the spokesperson for the POMR, dismissed Bwala’s allegations as entirely fabricated, insisting that Obi should not be associated with any form of transactional politics.

The media group stated that it was necessary to address the claims directly to protect the public from being misinformed by what they termed as false narratives.

The exchange highlights the ongoing tension between the current administration’s communication team and the opposition’s media machinery.

While Bwala continues to question the political integrity of the Labour Party’s former standard-bearer, Obi’s representatives maintain that such accusations are merely attempts to tarnish his reputation with baseless claims of opportunistic reaching out.
