NSE President Commissions Fellows’ Lounge

The President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Ali Alimasuya Rabiu, FNSE, F.ASCE, FAEng, MFR, has officially commissioned the Fellows’ Lounge at the National Engineering Centre (NEC) Headquarters in Abuja.
The newly established lounge is a tastefully furnished relaxation space created exclusively for distinguished Fellows of the Society. It is designed to provide a serene and comfortable environment where Fellows can spend brief moments to engage informally and enjoy light snacks while at the national Secretariat for official transactions.
Speaking at the commissioning, the President said the idea for the lounge was borne out of his administration’s commitment to upholding the dignity and status, as well as deepening the sense of belonging amongst Fellows of the Society. He recalled that the initiative was first announced during his investiture in January, when he stated: “In furtherance of our commitment to uphold the dignity and status of Fellowship within the Nigerian Society of Engineers, our administration will establish a dedicated Fellows’ Lounge at the NSE National Headquarters.”
He announced that access to the facility will be restricted to financially up-to-date Fellows and that refreshments at the lounge will be provided on request and at a cost. The President also informed guests at the commissioning ceremony that guidelines have been established to regulate the use of the lounge in order to preserve its exclusivity and prestige.
The commissioning of the Fellows’ Lounge marks another milestone in the administration’s drive to strengthen member experience and enhance the institutional stature of the Nigerian Society of Engineers. The NSE Fellows’ Lounge is now officially open to all Fellows of the Society in good financial standing.
