NSCDC detains 15-year-old boy for alleged killing in Jigawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa State has taken a 15-year-old boy into custody following the death of a 19-year-old man after a violent clash in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area.
NSCDC spokesman ASC Badaruddeen Tijjani confirmed in a statement on Tuesday that the suspect, a resident of Auno village, allegedly attacked Barau Aliyu from Beli area with a stick after discovering him grazing livestock on his father’s farmland.
According to Tijjani, the confrontation occurred on 16 July at about 11:30 a.m. and resulted in the victim sustaining serious internal injuries. He was pronounced dead the next day at Kafin Hausa General Hospital.
NSCDC personnel in Kafin Hausa apprehended the suspect at the scene shortly after the incident. Following a preliminary inquiry, the case, categorised as suspected culpable homicide, was handed over to the Jigawa State Police Command for further investigation and potential prosecution.
