Nigeria to unveil hosting plans for World Public Relations Forum 2026 in Abuja

Nigeria is set to officially unveil its hosting plans for the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) Abuja 2026, an event expected to attract global communication professionals and position the country as a hub for international public relations discourse.

The National Planning Committee (NPC) of WPRF Abuja 2026, chaired by Dr. Suleiman Haruna, mnipr, has finalised arrangements for the National Unveiling Ceremony, which will serve as the official kick-off of activities leading to the global event.

In a statement signed by Dr. Muhammad Kudu Abubakar, fnipr, fspsp, Chairman, Communication and Media Relations Work Team for WPRF Abuja 2026, the unveiling is scheduled for Monday, 20th October 2025, at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

According to the statement, the ceremony will be held in a hybrid format to allow both physical and virtual participation. This approach, it said, demonstrates the committee’s commitment to flexibility and broader inclusion of both local and international audiences.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, fnipr, will deliver the keynote address at the unveiling.

Also expected to speak are four other ministers:Hon. Amb. Yusuf M. Tuggar, OON, Minister of Foreign Affairs,Hon. Hannatu Musa Musawa, Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, Hon. Festus Keyamo, CON, SAN, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development.

The statement added that the unveiling will signal the commencement of Early Bird Registration for delegates, with special discounts available. It will also serve as a platform for sponsorship drives and greater media engagement across Nigeria and internationally.

Dr. Abubakar expressed optimism that the National Unveiling will firmly place WPRF Abuja 2026 on the global map and reinforce Nigeria’s growing influence in public relations and communication.

He said: “The unveiling will mark the beginning of an exciting journey that will showcase Nigeria’s leadership in communication and public relations.

“It will attract global attention, generate wide excitement, and make Abuja the destination for communication experts in November 2026.”

The National Planning Committee (NPC), comprising key figures from the public relations and communication sectors, was established by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the host institute for WPRF 2026 to coordinate the global event and ensure its successful execution.
