The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, has congratulated the Muslim faithful on the completion of the 2026 Ramadan fast, expressing a firm belief that the nation is on the threshold of a new dawn.
In a Sallah message released through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the Speaker noted that divine intervention through consistent prayer has been instrumental in maintaining Nigeria’s unity despite significant socio-economic and security challenges.
He observed that as the holy month concludes on Thursday, the spiritual efforts of the citizens have provided a necessary cushion for the country’s stability.
Abbas drew a significant parallel to the current religious atmosphere, noting that the concurrent observation of Lent by the Christian community and Ramadan by Muslims serves as a divine arrangement.
“This is a reminder that we are one people united by a common good,” Abbas remarked, urging Nigerians to continue imbibing the virtues of selflessness and charity.
He emphasized that the nation cannot afford to relent in its spiritual and civic commitment to building a better society, praying that the worship observed during the month brings forth a more peaceful and prosperous federation.
