Nasarawa lawmaker distributes 220 bags of fertilisers, 8 motorcycles, 37 grinding machines

A lawmaker, Dr Peter Akwe, has distributed 220 bags of fertiliser, 8 motorcycles, 37 grinding machines and cartons of herbicides to the people of his constituency.

Speaking at the distribution ceremony in Lafiya on Friday, the lawmaker said the essence was to boost food security and improve the standard of living of the people of his constituency.

Akwe, a PDP member and Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture, said he would continue to provide the dividends of democracy to the people of his constituency to improve their lives.

He said the gesture was part of his campaign promises to alleviate some of the challenges faced by the people of his constituency.

“I have empowered many people, given them jobs as well as initiated different projects that have direct bearing on the lives of my people.

“By God’s grace, I will continue to provide the much needed dividends of democracy to the people of my constituency,” he assured.

The lawmaker urged the beneficiaries to make proper use of the items to positively change their lives.

Akwe solicited the support of the people of his constituency to enable him succeed.

He assured them of continued sound and quality representation at the state legislature.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Alhaji Yusuf Ayitogo, a PDP chieftain, commended Akwe for his efforts at empowering farmers and other people in his constituency.

He urged the beneficiaries to utilise the items to achieve the intended purpose they were meant for.

The PDP chieftain assured the lawmaker of their unrelenting prayers and support to enable him to succeed.
