Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, is set to formally assent to the state’s ₦892 billion 2026 Appropriation Bill on Monday.

The development was disclosed in a statement released on Sunday in Ibadan by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olarenwaju.

The signing ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Executive Council Chambers within the Governor’s Office, following the passage of the budget by the Oyo State House of Assembly last week after extensive legislative scrutiny.

Governor Makinde had earlier presented the 2026 budget proposal to lawmakers on November 24, 2025. The fiscal plan, tagged the Budget of Economic Expansion, has an estimated total value of ₦891.9 billion and is aimed at consolidating economic stability while driving productivity and inclusive growth across the state.

The statement noted that several top government officials and stakeholders are expected at the event. They include the Deputy Governor, Bayo Lawal; Speaker of the House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin; and the Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Iyabo Yerima.

Also expected are former deputy governors, former legislative leaders, members of the House of Assembly’s Appropriation Committee, party officials, labour leaders, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and representatives of key state councils.
