Lagos APC unveils 2027 campaign structure, names Omotosho as media head

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally constituted its campaign council for the 2027 general elections.

The campaign structure, released on Thursday by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre, places Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi at the helm of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC).

Governor Sanwo-Olu will serve as the Advisory Council Chairman, with Fashola and Ambode acting as Co-Chairmen.

The high-powered advisory body also features President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa; former Minister of Health, Senator Adeleke Mamora; and prominent senior advocates including Muiz Banire, SAN, and Babatunde Ogala, SAN.

For the main campaign council, Governor Sanwo-Olu assumes the role of Chairman, supported by Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as Deputy Chairman. Ojelabi Cornelius, Mudashiru Obasa, and Damilola Sonayon James will serve as Vice Chairmen I, II, and III respectively.

Former Senator Musiliu Obanikoro was appointed Director-General of the campaign, assisted by Rasaq Ajala as Deputy Director-General and Adekunle Olayinka as Campaign Secretary.

The operational framework incorporates specialized directorates to drive grassroots and strategic mobilization. Lawal Pedro, SAN, will lead the Legal and Compliance Directorate, backed by Niji Kazeem, SAN, as Deputy Director, alongside a team of senior legal practitioners including Kemi Pinheiro, SAN, Supo Shashore, SAN, and Professor Yemi Oke, SAN.

Additionally, Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotosho, has been appointed Director for the Media and Publicity Committee to oversee publicity and media relations for the campaign.

Other key appointments include Moshood Mayegun for Party and Inter-Party Affairs, Adekunle Olayinka for Secretariat Administration and Logistics, Chief Kunle Odufuwa for Traditional Institutions, and Gbolahan Gbadamosi alongside deputy Jermaine Sanwo-Olu for Diaspora Engagement. Azeez Aremu Amusat will coordinate activities for residents’ associations, CDAs, and estates, alongside grassroots coordinators spanning all local government areas and local council development areas.

The newly formed council is scheduled for formal inauguration on Friday, September 18, at 10 a.m. at the APC State Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja, as political parties ramp up preparations for the 2027 general elections.
