The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed confidence in its continued dominance in the 2027 general elections, dismissing recent criticisms from opposition parties as baseless and misleading.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Lagos APC Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, responded to a press release by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), titled “No Patriotic Nigerian Will Vote for APC in 2027”. He described the PDP as a “tottering, disjointed and moribund opposition,” and said the statement lacked substance and objectivity.
“The APC categorically rejects this attempt to smear our party and misrepresent the millions of patriotic Nigerians who support us,” Oladejo said.
He stated that the APC’s track record, vision, and leadership capacity would continue to speak for the party as the nation approaches the 2027 elections.
“On all these counts, the APC will stand tall,” he added.
Oladejo emphasized that patriotism should not be measured by party affiliation but by a commitment to national development, unity, and democratic principles. He highlighted the APC’s achievements in infrastructure, digital economy, agriculture, and social investment, noting that even the party’s harshest critics cannot ignore the reforms.
“To assert that no patriotic Nigerian would vote for APC in 2027 is not only presumptuous but deeply insulting to the intelligence of the electorate,” he said.
Oladejo maintained that the APC remains focused on delivering responsive governance, tackling insecurity, stabilising the economy, and promoting inclusive growth.
While welcoming constructive criticism and public engagement, he cautioned against what he described as attempts to monopolise patriotism or equate political allegiance with national loyalty.
