Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has assured residents that his administration will not abandon any infrastructure project, pledging to see all ongoing works through to completion.

The governor gave this assurance while flagging off the second phase of the dualisation of the Osogbo–Ikirun–Ila Odo road, which extends to the Kwara State boundary.

Speaking on Monday in Ikirun, Ifelodun Local Government Area, Adeleke announced the commencement of the 39-kilometre second phase of the Osogbo–Ikirun–Inisha–Okuku–Ijabe–Ila Odo dualisation. He stressed the strategic importance of the project to his administration’s development plans.

He reaffirmed his pledge to prioritise the welfare, peace, and security of the people of Osun, recalling the commitment he made when assuming office on 27 November 2022.

“In our first 100 days, we successfully completed the first phase of this dualisation, originally awarded in 2012, along with other key projects. The completion of the remaining 39 kilometres to the Kwara border is critical, and we intend to deliver it within 12 months by the grace of God,” Adeleke said.

He also launched the dualisation of the Ila-Orangun township road and reiterated his determination to remain focused on serving the people.

According to the governor, his administration has reconstructed, rehabilitated, and renovated more than 175 kilometres of roads across the state, with multiple dualisation and flyover projects progressing steadily.

“The Ilesa dualisation is 78 per cent completed, the Ile-Ife flyover stands at 75 per cent, the Oke-Fia flyover is over 95 per cent finished, and the LAMECO flyover is about 55 per cent executed. The Oke Gada bridge has been fully completed, while 1.5 kilometres of roads across all local government areas are nearing completion,” he stated.

He listed several other completed projects, including the 2-kilometre Oba Jinsin/Ita Obajoko Road, Ogunlade Junction–Kamila Junction Road, Ajagunla Street, and the 1.8-kilometre Aregun Junction–Ogunlolu Road in Ila.

Adeleke further announced the launch of the first phase of the 3.5-kilometre Ila township road dualisation, scheduled for completion within 10 months, and approved the rehabilitation of the Ila–Ora–Oke Ila road.

“The rehabilitation has reached Oke Ila junction, and I assure the traditional rulers and residents of Ora and Oke Ila that the work will continue shortly. We are determined to deliver these mega projects without leaving any abandoned,” he said.
