Kwara State Government has announced a 40 percent reduction in registration fees for public school students sitting for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) across the state.

This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in llorinby the State Ministry of Education quoted Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON) as part of efforts to promote accessible and inclusive education and improve teaching and learning in the State.

While commending the State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe described the move as a demonstration of the administration’s commitment to easing the financial burden on the parents and the Students, pointing out that education remains the vehicles for the sustainable development of the State

“The administration of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has continued to demonstrate commitment to providing quality education that is affordable to parents and guardians across the state,” adding that “The approval of a 40 percent reduction is a testament to the government’s responsiveness to the economic realities faced by our people.”

Olorungbebe remarks that the State had been focusing on the improvement of qualities and education with a view to use it as an avenue to re- invigorate the human capital needs of state. Stressing that, knowledge and education drives the world economies.

The commissioner further charged the stakeholders to support the state government efforts by Collaborating with the government in her quest to improve teaching and learning in schools across the state.
