The Kwara State Government has approved the payment of robe allowances and outstanding furniture allowances for state counsel in the employment of the state government, as part of efforts to strengthen workers’ welfare and address legitimate outstanding entitlements.

This was made known by the Acting Head of Service, Dr. Olufunke Mercy Shittu, following a review of demands presented by the Law Officers Association of Nigeria (LOAN), Kwara State Chapter.

Shittu explained that the approvals cover the outstanding balance of the 2016–2020 furniture allowance, the 2024 furniture allowance, and robe allowances from 2024 to 2026 for all affected law officers.

The Acting Head of Service noted that the approvals underscore the commitment of the present administration to the welfare of workers.

She added that the Commissioner for Finance has been directed to disburse the approved payments to all concerned beneficiaries.

Shittu commended the State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, for prioritizing the welfare of workers and approving the settlement of the allowances due to state counsel.

The Head of Service reiterated the state government’s commitment to upgrading the living conditions of all categories of workers with a view to enhancing service delivery.
