The Kwara State Commissioner for Youth Development, Ambassador Ndanusa Usman Shehu, has called on young people across the state to embrace skills acquisition and entrepreneurship as key tools for personal growth and sustainable development.
He made the call while receiving a delegation of the Kin Tsaragi Progressive Youth Association in Ilorin, where he commended the group for its commitment to promoting peace, unity, and development within the Tsaragi community.
Amb. Ndanusa urged youths to become more skills-oriented, stressing the need to use education as a foundation to acquire and expand practical knowledge that can drive innovation, creativity, and self-employment.
According to him, “The government will continue to create an enabling environment for growth and prosperity, but it cannot provide jobs for everyone. Hence, there is a need for young people to explore entrepreneurship and vocational training as viable pathways to success.”
He assured the delegates of his unwavering support and pledged to convey their concerns and requests to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. The Commissioner further commended the association for its proactive engagement and commitment to complementing government’s developmental initiatives across the three districts of Tsaragi.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Association, Mr Issa Ndauhinko, said the visit was a familiarisation and partnership visit aimed at fostering collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Development to advance the collective interests of the Tsaragi community.
He lauded Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the remarkable infrastructural projects across the state, particularly the total renovation of the health centre in Ward 1, Tsaragi.
Ndauhinko reiterated the association’s readiness to support government’s development agenda by contributing ideas, resources, and initiatives that would enhance governance and improve the welfare of the people.
Also speaking, the Vice Chairman, Musa Usman, appealed for innovative solutions to address challenges of access to clean and safe water in parts of the community. He also requested the Commissioner’s assistance in enhancing the association’s visibility and facilitating access to youth empowerment and entrepreneurship programmes to reduce unemployment and promote economic self-reliance.
The Kin Tsaragi Progressive Youth Association reaffirmed its commitment to peace, development, and youth inclusion, pledging continued collaboration with the government in driving sustainable growth across all sectors in the Tsaragi community.
