Kwara adopts multi-agency security model to counter cross-border threats

Governor  Abdul-Rahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has announced the adoption of a multi-agency strategy to strengthen security across the state, particularly in response to threats from armed non-state actors fleeing from neighbouring regions.

The announcement was made during a meeting on Tuesday with first-class traditional rulers in the state, where security and socio-economic issues were under discussion.

AbdulRazaq said the government had approved deeper involvement of local actors in its grassroots security framework.

“We appreciate the efforts you have all made so far. We now need Your Royal Highnesses to continue sensitising our people on the collective responsibility we all bear in keeping our communities safe from infiltration,” he told the monarchs.

The governor also stressed the importance of providing actionable intelligence to support formal security agencies in their operations.

In his response, the Vice Chairman of the Kwara Council of Chiefs and Etsu Patigi, Alhaji Ibrahim Bologi II, thanked the governor for his detailed briefing and assured him of continued support.

“We will always back your administration. You are doing commendable work,” said Alhaji Bologi.
