The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) held a grand ceremony to celebrate the retirement and birthday of Barrister Grace Agha-Ibe, the outgoing Director of the Proceeds of Crime Department (POCD).

After 24 years of dedicated service, colleagues and leadership of the Commission gathered to pay tribute to a career defined by integrity, firm discipline, and professional mentorship.

During the event, hosted by the Special Services Department, speakers described Agha-Ibe as a firm and fair leader whose meticulous work ethic and administrative expertise left an indelible blueprint for the Commission’s growth.

Colleagues from various departments shared testimonies of her leadership style, characterizing her as a no-nonsense administrator who nevertheless acted as a maternal figure and mentor to committed staff.

In her emotional response, Barrister Agha-Ibe expressed profound gratitude for the gesture, admitting that her stern public persona was a necessary tool to achieve the Commission’s high-stakes objectives.

She urged the remaining staff to stay focused on their primary duties, assuring them that diligence is eventually rewarded. Despite her retirement, the former Director affirmed her commitment to continue contributing to national development in future capacities.
