Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Mr Daniel Bwala, has disclosed why he prefers working with President Tinubu instead of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Speaking on a podcast hosted by Nedu, Bwala said his preference was shaped by the attitude of both leaders and their political associates.
According to him: “I will tell you one thing that distinguished Asiwaju from Atiku. When I left Asiwaju and joined the PDP, all the people around Asiwaju, throughout the campaign as boisterous as it was, we maintained good relationships. President Tinubu himself never acted bitter.”
He commended Mr Seyi Tinubu, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, Hon James Faleke, and Hon Babajide Benson for keeping cordial ties with him despite his move to the opposition.
In contrast, Bwala accused Atiku’s camp of hostility when he switched sides. “Everybody around Atiku started frowning and going to the media cursing me, and that’s a reflection of what either the leader promotes or doesn’t tolerate,” he said.
The presidential aide clarified that he did not abandon Atiku but only returned to his political base after the elections.
“If I come back to life on the evidence of these two, I would rather work with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu,” he declared.
Bwala previously served as spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar during the 2023 general elections before defecting to Tinubu’s team.
