Barely 24 hours after announcing his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former governorship aspirant, Otunba Emmanuel Fayose, has entered high-level consultations with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Sources confirmed that Fayose met with Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, National Secretary of the ADC, in Abuja on Friday.
An Ekiti-born politician close to the talks, who requested anonymity, told Leadership that Fayose is “already considering ADC as his new political base.”
During the meeting, Aregbesola reportedly urged Fayose to “join without delay,” assuring him that the ADC remains open to “grassroots leaders with strong political structures.”
On Thursday, Fayose had released a video denouncing the PDP as a “compromised party” and alleging its leadership had become “stooges for the ruling APC.”
His swift move to consult the ADC hierarchy is now seen as the clearest sign yet that the party is positioning itself as a rallying point for disenchanted politicians ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Nigerian NewsDirect reports that Emmanuel Fayose is the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayo Fayose.
