Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO Plc) has announced a Profit before tax (PBT) of ₦900.8 billion for the third quarter ended September 30, 2025, reflecting strong growth in core earnings driven by higher interest and fee income.

According to its unaudited financial statements submitted to the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) and London Stock Exchange (LSE), GTCO’s interest income grew by 25.6 per cent year-on-year, while fee income rose by 16.8 per cent, helping the group sustain performance momentum despite the non-recurrence of a ₦523.2 billion fair value gain recorded in Q3 2024.

The group’s total assets climbed to ₦16.7 trillion, while shareholders’ funds closed at ₦3.3 trillion.

The bank also maintained a strong Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) of 36.5 per cent, with improved asset quality as IFRS 9 Stage 3 loans fell to 3.3 per cent and 4.4 per cent at bank and group levels respectively.

GTCO’s loan book (net) grew by 16.5 per cent, from ₦2.79 trillion in December 2024 to ₦3.24 trillion as of September 2025, while customer deposits rose by 16 per cent to ₦12.06 trillion during the same period.

Commenting on the results, Mr. Segun Agbaje, Group Chief Executive Officer of GTCO Plc, said the strong performance underscores the resilience of the company’s diversified financial ecosystem.

“Our third quarter performance underscores the consistency and resilience of our business model, as well as the continued strength of our diversified financial services ecosystem,” Agbaje said.

“We are seeing steady, sustainable growth across our banking and non-banking businesses, supported by disciplined execution and a strong focus on operational efficiency.”

He added that ongoing improvements in digital and payments infrastructure are enhancing customer experience and deepening engagement across GTCO’s platforms.

“Looking ahead, our focus remains on advancing our competitive edge through innovation, operational excellence, and a commitment to superior customer outcomes,” he noted.

GTCO continues to rank among the best-performing financial institutions in Nigeria, with a Pre-Tax Return on Equity (ROAE) of 39.5 per cent, Pre-Tax Return on Assets (ROAA) of 7.6 per cent, and a Cost-to-Income Ratio of 28.8 per cent.

The group, which operates across Africa and the United Kingdom, remains renowned for its strong governance, innovative financial solutions, and commitment to long-term value creation for stakeholders.
