Nassarawa State Gubernatorial aspirant, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu has urged the people of Nasarawa State to forgive him acknowledging his human limitations and the potential for errors made during the pursuit of his political ambitions.
Addressing a gathering of party stakeholders and supporters at the Nasarawa State Lodge in Abuja shortly before submitting his expression of interest and nomination forms, the Senator expressed deep appreciation for the overwhelming support he has received across the state, pledging never to take such trust for granted.
Senator Wadada extended his gratitude to Governor Abdullahi Sule for endorsing him as his preferred successor, noting that the selection process was a testament to the Governor’s sincerity and commitment to the unity of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State.
The Senator also recognized long-time allies and key stakeholders, including the state APC Chairman, Dr. Aliyu Bello, whom he described as a friend of over four decades.
He further commended the contributions and sacrifices of figures such as Architect Shehu Tukur, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Musa, Dr. Faisal Shuaibu, and Hon. Abubakar Hassan Nalaraba.
Adding to the call for reconciliation, the Baraden Nasarawa, Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Musa, emphasized the importance of unity and faith.
He urged other governorship aspirants and their supporters to accept Senator Wadada’s emergence as a divine outcome.
Drawing from his previous experiences in the opposition, Dr. Musa warned of the challenges of political exclusion and called on all party members to rally behind the Governor’s decision to ensure Nasarawa State remains an APC stronghold.
The Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, also lauded Governor Sule’s choice, describing the endorsement of Senator Wadada as a strategic move to ensure the continuity of the administration’s developmental strides.
While urging citizens to remain steadfast and prayerful, Dr. Akabe noted that collective support for the Governor’s preferred successor is essential for a successful transition, reminding the audience that the political process requires sustained effort until the final victory is secured.
Further clarifying the transition process, Dr. Aliyu Bello recounted the historical shift from former Governor Tanko Al-Makura to Governor Sule.
He observed that while the previous administration delayed naming a successor, Governor Sule has maintained a transparent and clear position from the onset.
Similarly, the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Danladi Jatau, renewed the call for unity of purpose.
He expressed absolute confidence that the trust the citizens have in the current administration would translate into a decisive victory for Senator Wadada in the forthcoming elections.
