The Federal Polytechnic Ede in Osun State has appealed to the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for urgent support in fencing the institution’s perimeter to prevent encroachment and safeguard its property.

Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Taiwo Olaiya, made the call during an inspection tour of ongoing TETFund-backed landscaping projects on campus. He warned that the school is already witnessing signs of land encroachment and stressed that fencing is now the institution’s top security priority.

“Many of the disputes between institutions and host communities arise from delayed fencing, which gives room for illegal occupation,” Olaiya said. “We’re eager to partner with TETFund to ensure the integrity of our land is protected.”

The appeal comes three weeks after TETFund’s Southwest representative, Mr. Sunday Adepoju, visited the campus. Olaiya noted that the institution had since intensified efforts to maintain existing TETFund projects, including landscaping works, in appreciation of the agency’s support.

He added that the landscaping and beautification projects are progressing well and are expected to be completed within three weeks.

Director of Works, Alhaji Ndatsu Umar, confirmed that the landscaping began three weeks ago and is currently ongoing in key academic departments, including Electrical-Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Science Technology.
