Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has approved the recruitment of 3,000 qualified professionals into the state’s civil service in a strategic push to enhance public service delivery and expand youth employment opportunities.
The Commissioner for Science and Digital Economy, Mr. Frank Ekpenyong, announced the development in a statement issued in Uyo, noting that the recruitment spans multiple sectors including education, healthcare, engineering, law, agriculture, science, and administration.
Ekpenyong explained that the entire application process will be conducted via the state’s ARISE Youth Employment Portal, in line with the Eno administration’s commitment to transparency and digital governance under the ARISE Agenda.
“These appointments cover every discipline and cadre from teachers and nurses to engineers, administrators, state counsels, and agriculturalists,” he said.
Applicants are required to create profiles on the portal by uploading relevant documents such as academic certificates, NYSC discharge or exemption certificates, and other credentials. Only one application per candidate is permitted, and a valid email address will serve as the sole communication channel throughout the process.
Once the application window closes, shortlisted candidates will be notified through the portal and asked to accept their shortlisting online. Selected candidates will then receive QR-coded interview invitations, and certain roles may require aptitude tests with specific dates and instructions shared in advance.
On the day of the interview or test, candidates must present their invitation slip, original credentials, and writing materials. Successful applicants will be notified through the portal and assigned to relevant departments for documentation and onboarding.
According to Ekpenyong, the list of shortlisted candidates will be published on or before July 31. He thanked all applicants for their interest in serving the state and wished them success in the recruitment process.
