ExecuJet, FAAN, AFCAC eye Africa Golf tournament tit

Momentum is building for the 4th edition of the Aviation Cup Africa Golf Tournament as key industry stakeholders, including ExecuJet Nigeria FZE, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), and the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC), confirm their participation.

Defending champions, Team Uganda Airlines, are preparing for tough competition as they look to retain their title. What began as a modest gathering in 2022 has rapidly evolved into a prestigious event attracting major players from across the continent.

Set to take place from 16 to 17 May 2025 at Ikeja Golf Club, this year’s tournament will once again combine the thrill of sport with meaningful networking opportunities. In last year’s expanded two-day format, Uganda Airlines claimed victory, narrowly edging out South African Airways.

With a broader pool of contenders expected this year, the stage is set for a fresh chapter in the tournament’s short but dynamic history. A new addition to the 2025 edition is the HospitaliTee Trophy, which celebrates excellence among hospitality service providers within the aviation space.

This segment will see in-flight caterers, airport restaurants, and duty-free retailers competing for top honours, recognising their role in enhancing the travel experience.

The event goes beyond golf. Aviation Night, a relaxed evening of informal networking, offers participants a chance to connect away from the pressures of boardrooms and formal conferences — a popular element of the tournament that continues to grow in popularity.

Returning teams from ExecuJet, FAAN, and AFCAC are said to be stronger and more prepared, with their sights set on top honours. Meanwhile, several underdog teams are hoping to shake up the leaderboard and challenge the current champions.

With its expanding influence and pan-African reach, the Aviation Cup Africa Golf Tournament continues to foster friendly rivalries and professional bonds across the industry.

Organisers have promised an experience that blends competition with camaraderie, both on and off the course. As the tournament draws closer, attention turns to Ikeja Golf Club. Will Team Uganda Airlines hold on to their title, or will a new winner be crowned? The fairway will soon tell.
