Eid-el Maulid: NSCDC deploys 1,500 personnel, warns against crime

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kaduna Command, has deployed 1,500 personnel to ensure a peaceful Eid-el Maulid celebration in the state.
The deployment is aimed at ensuring a safe, secure and incident-free celebration scheduled for Tuesday.
This is contained in a statement by the command’s Spokesperson, SC Habeeb Badamasi, on Saturday in Kaduna.
The State Commandant, CC Panam Musa, said the personnel would be deployed to Murtala Square, Kaduna metropolis, major junctions, strategic locations, places of worship and other identified venues.
According to Musa the deployment is also designed to protect lives and property, prevent crime, maintain law and order as well as safeguard residents and visitors during the celebration.
He directed personnel to intensify surveillance, intelligence gathering and highway patrols, particularly along major routes and other vulnerable locations.
The commandant said the NSCDC would collaborate with sister security agencies and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective security coverage across the state.
Musa assured residents of the corps’ readiness to provide adequate security before, during and after the celebration.
He urged members of the public to remain law-abiding, vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.
According to him, the operation will commence at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, under the overall command of the state commandant.
He added that Head of the Operations Department, DCC Abdullahi Karfi Umar,
would serve as the Ground Commander for the operation.
He congratulated Muslim faithfuls and wished them a peaceful and joyous Eid-el Maulid celebration.
