Sallah: Lagos NSCDC deploys 2,150 personnel

The Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has mobilized 2,150 officers and men to safeguard the state throughout the Sallah festivities.

The deployment is aimed at protecting critical national infrastructure and preventing acts of vandalism or criminal activities before, during, and after the holidays.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Lagos State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, explained that the proactive security measures were necessary due to the anticipated surge of travelers and visitors into Lagos for the festive season.

He noted that the command has designed strategic operational frameworks to deter criminal elements and ensure the safety of lives and public property.

The NSCDC Commandant stated that personnel across all formations have been instructed to rigorously monitor key areas, including strategic transit points, right of ways, oil pipeline installations, religious centers, public parks, and critical national assets.

He ordered the deployed forces to maintain a high state of alertness while executing their duties with utmost professionalism and respect for the fundamental rights of citizens.

While extending his festive greetings to the Muslim community, Keshinro urged believers to emulate the virtues of piety, sacrifice, and compassion exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

He also called on residents to use the celebration to pray for the peace, unity, and development of Nigeria.
