The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kogi State has distanced itself from Senator Dino Melaye, cautioning him to stop presenting himself as a member of the party.
ADC’s State Public Relations Officer, Tayo John, issued the warning in Lokoja, insisting that Melaye has no ties with the party at the ward or state level.
John accused the former lawmaker of “constant interference” in the party’s activities and making “needless attacks” on its leadership.
He stressed that the state executive committee remains intact and has no alliance with individuals he described as “marauders” claiming membership without legitimacy.
“Let me state unequivocally that Dino Melaye is not a member of ADC in Kogi State. He is not known in his ward and therefore has no identity in our party,” he said.
The spokesman further described Melaye as a “social media content creator” whose public comments do not reflect the ideology or interests of the African Democratic Congress.
He maintained that Melaye’s activities are inconsistent with the party’s principles and therefore confer no authority on him to speak on any issue concerning the ADC in Kogi State.
