A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has ordered the remand of a 27-year-old woman, Ajirotutu Bosede, at the Correctional Centre for allegedly pouring hot oil on a man, causing grievous bodily harm.

According to the prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, the incident occurred on 3rd October 2025, around noon, at Matthew Street, Ado-Ekiti.

The defendant was said to have unlawfully poured hot red oil on one Emmanuel Ogunleye, resulting in severe burns and life-threatening injuries.

Inspector Oriyomi added that the defendant also conducted herself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace within the community on the same date and at the same location.

Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Adedayo Awe, pleaded with the court to grant his client bail.

However, the Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, declined the request and ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Correctional Centre pending further hearing.

The case was adjourned till 21st November 2025 for continuation of proceedings.
