A member of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Hon. Lawal Abdul, has mourned the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing his death as a profound national loss and hailing his lasting contributions to Nigeria’s development.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Sunday, Abdul, who represents the Kankara constituency, praised Buhari’s enduring legacy of discipline, leadership, and commitment to national unity.
“It is with deep sadness that I received the news of former President Buhari’s passing,” he said. “His dedication to public service and Nigeria’s development will forever be remembered.”
Buhari served as Nigeria’s military Head of State from 1983 to 1985 and later as a civilian President from 2015 to 2023. Abdul described him as a leader driven by patriotism, vision, and an unwavering desire to strengthen the nation.
“As we bid farewell, we take solace in his remarkable achievements and the lasting impact he had on our country,” the lawmaker stated.
Abdul extended heartfelt condolences to the late president’s family, particularly his wife, Hajia Aisha Buhari, and their children, praying for divine comfort during their time of grief.
He urged Nigerians especially the people of Katsina State to draw inspiration from Buhari’s legacy of selfless service and to uphold the values he championed.
“His passing leaves a void, but his vision will continue to guide us,” Abdul said, encouraging younger generations to emulate the former president’s dedication to Nigeria’s progress.
