Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State has confirmed he is in good health and currently under medical observation at home following a road accident on Sunday evening.

According to reports, the governor’s convoy was involved in a head-on collision with a Volkswagen Golf vehicle along the Daura-Katsina road. Governor Radda, his Chief of Staff Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman-Nasir, and another occupant were initially taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Daura before being transferred to the Federal Teaching Hospital in Katsina for further medical attention.

In a statement released Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed, Radda thanked the people of Katsina for their support, prayers, and concern.

“By the will of Allah, we were tested with a car accident but Alhamdulillah, we came out safe and unharmed,” the governor said in a short video message. “I’m currently at home under observation, just to ensure everything is okay. By His Grace, I am doing well and in high spirits.”

The Chief Press Secretary also clarified that the incident was a minor accident and that the governor did not sustain any serious injuries.

“Governor Radda remains in good health and stable condition. He is grateful to Almighty Allah for protection and to the people of Katsina for their heartfelt prayers,” Kaula-Mohammed added.

The accident reportedly occurred while the governor was on official duty.
