Basiru criticises Adeleke’s performance

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, has criticised the performance of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, linking his leadership to his academic background.

Basiru alleged that the Adeleke administration has recorded what he described as an “F9 performance” across key sectors, including education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

Speaking on the governor’s academic history, Basiru referenced Adeleke’s National Examinations Council (NECO) examination, which he sat at the age of 64.

“Adeleke doesn’t value education because he sat for NECO examination at the age of 64,” Basiru said.

He further criticised the administration, describing it as underperforming and failing to meet the expectations of the people of Osun State.

“Such a failed government of Ademola Adeleke. His government has failed the people of Osun,” he added.

Basiru also suggested that the governor may exit office by Aug. 2026, amid growing political contestation in the state.

The remarks reflect ongoing political exchanges between opposition figures and the Osun State Government over governance and performance.

Efforts to get a response from the Osun State Government were not immediately successful as of the time of filing this report.
