As part of efforts to assess the impact of mobile banking charges on Nigerians, NewsDirect has launched a new public survey to gather feedback from users of USSD banking services across the country.

The questionnaire, which targets both frequent and occasional users of USSD codes such as *737#, *966#, and *894#, seeks to document real-life experiences with transaction failures, debit errors, and the controversial ₦6.98 service charge imposed by banks and telecom operators.

According to the survey notice, responses will form part of a forthcoming report examining how Nigerians interact with mobile banking and how these charges affect financial inclusion, especially among low-income earners.

Participants are encouraged to indicate how often they use USSD, what services they mostly access—such as transfers, airtime top-ups, and balance checks—and whether they have ever been debited for failed transactions.
