Former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of placing personal interests above national welfare, branding the administrations of Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Tinubu as disastrous for the country.

Speaking at an expanded caucus meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Dutse, Lamido asserted that successive APC governments have plunged Nigerians into deeper hardship.

“Since Buhari and now Tinubu, Nigerians are suffering. Poverty is everywhere, youths are jobless, and the economy is collapsing. They claim to be fighting for Nigeria, but in reality, they are only fighting for themselves and their pockets,” Lamido said.

The veteran politician, who has been active since the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) struggles of 1979, stressed that Nigeria’s legacy of sacrifice and integrity must be preserved. He stated that politics should be anchored on fairness, justice, and service to the people, rather than insults, corruption, or selfish ambitions.

“The Tinubu government, just like Buhari’s, has failed Nigerians. Instead of relief, there is corruption, hardship, and an arrogance of power,” he declared.

Lamido urged PDP members to remain steadfast and united, insisting that the party has the capacity to restore equity and national pride.

“I believe in Jigawa, I believe in the PDP, and I believe we can reclaim our dignity. Let us not be deceived by empty promises. Let us remember our history and safeguard our future,” he added.
