APC intentionally orchestrating chaos to portray Osun as unstable — Salam alleges

The Chairman of the Imole Campaign Council, Hon. Bamidele Salam, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State of orchestrating a coordinated campaign of violence and chaos designed to portray the state as ungovernable and sabotage election logistics ahead of the upcoming governorship polls.
Speaking on Tuesday during an interview on Channels Television’s political program Politics Today, Salam, a member of the House of Representatives claimed that the APC is using political thugs to forcefully take over commercial motor parks across the state.
According to the lawmaker, the alleged strategy aims to cripple transport infrastructure in Osogbo, Ilesa, and other major towns, thereby disrupting the movement of election materials and workers.
“The plan of the APC in Osun State is to cause chaos,” Salam said.
“Their plan is to make the state appear to the rest of the world as being unable to conduct itself in a civil manner, even though they are in a gross minority,” he added.
Salam alleged that the opposition party is acting in collusion with certain security personnel, specifically accusing elements within the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) of providing cover for known political enforcers during recent outbreaks of violence.
He singled out a notorious political figure, popularly known as “Asiri Eniba,” accusing him of leading violent incursions into commercial motor parks to forcibly assume leadership of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
“This notorious thug went about shooting guns and injuring many people across several locations,” Salam stated.
“We have policemen and Civil Defense officers on tape, in pictures, and videos providing cover for this neutral thug as he moved from one motor park to another yesterday and today, seizing parks and claiming leadership of the union without any legal basis whatsoever,” he said.
The campaign chairman emphasized that the targeted motor parks house over 3,700 commercial buses and vehicles crucial for distributing electoral materials across the state.
He warned that any deliberate disruption of union activities at these parks threatens the integrity of the electoral process.
Salam called on national security chiefs and electoral authorities to immediately intervene, rein in rogue security officers, and secure major transport hubs across Osun State to prevent further breakdown of law and order.
