The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday successfully conducted state congresses across various geopolitical zones, characterized largely by a consensus model of leadership selection and a unified endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reform agenda.

From the political heartbeat of Lagos to the strongholds of Gombe, Ogun, and Ondo, the party successfully inaugurated new State Executive Committees tasked with steering its affairs for the next four years.

Lagos: Ojelabi returned, as Sanwo-Olu hails Party unity

In Lagos State, the "Home of the Progressives," the party reaffirmed the leadership of Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, who was returned as State Chairman alongside a majority of the outgoing executive members.

The congress, held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, was a high-profile gathering featuring Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, former Governor Akinwumi Ambode, and the Governance Advisory Council (GAC).

Governor Sanwo-Olu described the seamless, rancor-free process as a direct reflection of President Tinubu’s vision for a united party.

"In Lagos, APC has again demonstrated that we are a party founded on the principle of fairness and inclusion," the Governor stated.

He emphasized that the return of Ojelabi’s team serves as an affirmation of their growth-oriented leadership, positioning the party to remain a national reference point ahead of the 2027 general elections.
