The Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee has announced an immediate expansion of its special training program for content creators, opening its doors to thirty additional participants to help drive public education on Nigeria’s new tax laws.

This decision comes barely days after the release of the initial list of 20 creators, which drew sharp criticism on social media for appearing to exclude influencers from the Northern region.

Critics had accused the Committee of regional bias, arguing that a national tax education campaign could not be effective without the inclusion of voices that resonate with the Northern demographic.

In a statement released on Sunday, the Committee disclosed that the decision to increase the intake was due to overwhelming feedback and interest from the digital community.

The expansion will bring the total number of participating creators to 50, adding to the initial 20 previously selected.

The program is designed to equip social media influencers with accurate information regarding the fiscal reforms, ensuring they can break down complex tax policies for the general public without spreading misinformation.

To be eligible for the new slots, interested creators must possess a minimum combined followership of 10,000 across major platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and YouTube. Applicants must also demonstrate a willingness to participate fully in the training and a commitment to verifying facts before publishing.

The Committee highlighted a major incentive for the selected participants, direct access to the Committee Chairman and other key members.

This access is intended to allow creators to seek clarifications on technical issues before publishing, thereby ensuring accuracy, credibility, and public trust.

The application window is brief, with a deadline set for Monday, December 8, 2025.

The Committee noted that the final selection would be ranked based on follower count.
”Don’t just watch history unfold. Participate, learn, upskill, and contribute,” the statement urged, adding that an updated list of the top creators will be published following the training sessions.
