Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has ordered the suspension of a proposed Public-Private Partnership (PPP) involving the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, specifically targeting a deal concerning the institution’s land.

This decision followed a comprehensive review of the agreement, which the state government determined to be unfair and fundamentally detrimental to the long-term interests of both the college and the people of Osun State.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the Governor directed the college’s board and management to immediately cease all processing of the partnership.

Instead of relying on the private sector for infrastructure development, the state government has committed to looking inward to find alternative solutions for the college’s accommodation and housing needs.

This move serves as a broader policy shift for the administration, as Governor Adeleke has now issued a standing instruction to all state agencies, parastatals, and tertiary institutions to exercise extreme caution regarding legal proposals that could potentially injure the state’s fiscal or institutional health, a directive bolstered by lessons learned from the recent Sally Tibbot incident.
