A lecturer in the Department of Geography at Benue State University (BSU), Makurdi, Dr. Godwin Kwanga, has regained his freedom after being abducted by unknown gunmen.
He was rescued on Saturday by operatives of Operation Zenda, the Joint Task Force (JTF), in collaboration with other security agencies in Makurdi.
The operation occurred at Tse-Anjov village, near Wafare Quarters by the mobile Barracks Ring Road, close to a burial site for victims of Fulani herdsmen attacks.
Two kidnappers reportedly fled into the bush with gunshot wounds during the operation, leaving behind their weapons and the victim.
Dr. Kwanga was reunited with his family around 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.
