Benin city – The authorities of the nigerian police in Edo State Command have declared a manhunt for one allegedly fleeing bisexual suspect whose name was given as Idemudia Jesurobo and who was said to have been caught in a compromising manner.
Speaking to journalist on the 2nd May 2025 in Benin City, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, the Public Relations Officer of the Command, stated that preliminary investigation has shown that the now at large bisexual and his partner were caught in a compromising manner on the 28th March 2025 at Idemudia rented apartment where they were sighted committing the crime, as both of them were later arrested by vigilantes.
It’s was reported that as the vigilantes were bringing them to the station, one of the suspects Idemudia Jesurobo escaped from the hands of the vigilantes, his partner whose names was given as Osas Ehigiator was successfully brought to the station and detained, but he didn’t make it to the court, as he reportedly died in police custody.
His death was as a result of the injuries he sustained from the hands of the mobs who descended on them before he was brought to the station according to the report.
The ( PPRO ) further disclosed that immediately the incident was reported to the station “a crack-team of policemen” was immediately deployed to the suspect’s residence at Ikhueniro quarter’s Benin City where other two gay syndicates alleged to be Mr Idemudia Jesurobo partners were arrested, the principal suspect idemudia was not in the house as at the time the crack team stormed his residence.
He emphasized that the command will not relent in its efforts to arrest Idemudia Jesurobo in bringing him to justice on charges bothering on bisexual practice and conspiracy to murder and stated that the family of the deceased Osas Ehigiator has petitioned the relevant agencies that Idemudia Jesurobo was responsible for the untimely death of their son.
He appealed to members of the public to volunteer useful information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect Idemudia Jesurobo to approach any security formation in the country, assuring that such information would be treated in strictly confidentiality.
It should been recalled that the Federal government of Nigeria under President Goodluck Jonathan had in March 2014, amongst others signed into law a bill that criminalizes and prohibits Same-sex, Marriage, Bisexuality, homosexuality, gay and other amorous conducts.
In Africa societies, such conduct are viewed as unethical behavioural attitude, taboo and abominable in culture and traditions of the land.
Meanwhile, as at the time of filling this report, the whereabout of Idemudia Jesurobo remain unknown.
