2027: Choice of Kwara’s next Governor divine — Abdulrazaq

Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has declared that the choice of his successor and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Saliu Yakubu Danladi, is divine and enjoys royal blessings alongside widespread endorsement from people across the state.

AbdulRazaq made this known in Ilorin on Wednesday during a gathering of a socio-political group, “Dahiri Omo Ilorin,” organized to support the political ambition of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Yakubu Saliu Danladi.

The governor, who was represented by his Special Adviser and Counselor, Alhaji Saadu Salaudeen, stated that the choice was in the right direction and aligned with the best interests of the entire people of the state.

“This gathering shows that Ilorin indigenes are united for good and are solidly behind our administration. Our father, the Emir of Ilorin, has always thanked the Almighty God for answering his fervent prayers in the ascension of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as the state governor,” he said.

He noted that Kwara belongs to all, and ensuring equity, fairness, and justice for every part of the state has become imperative to spread development to the people.

AbdulRazaq stressed that the collective decision of Kwarans to support the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) could not be sacrificed, pointing out that ongoing developmental programs would be sustained to build a vibrant Kwara.

Earlier, the deputy governorship candidate and member of the State House of Assembly from Offa Local Government Area, Hon. Segun Ogunniyi (ADATO), who spoke on behalf of Danladi, commended the organizers, Dahiri Omo Ilorin, and the people of the emirate for their genuine love and undiluted support for the APC gubernatorial candidate.

He promised to prioritize the general well-being of citizens and build upon the strong legacy of Governor AbdulRazaq when elected.

Also speaking, the state party chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, said Governor AbdulRazaq is a true son of the Ilorin Emirate who has done exceedingly well for the state, expressing confidence that Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi would strive to surpass his achievements if given the mandate.

“One good turn deserves another. We should ensure that our vote in Kwara Central helps our governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, win as senator in the 2027 general elections. We should equally vote for SYD and other candidates of our party. They will not let you down,” Fagbemi said through the Publicity Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Babatunde Abdulwaheed.

The Coordinator of Dahiri Omo Ilorin for SYD, Mallam Abdulmajeed Arikewuyo Abdulfatai, said Danladi’s candidacy from the northern region of the state represents equity, fairness, and justice.

He noted that they had consulted widely across the nooks and crannies of Ilorin and realized that the people of the emirate want unity, fairness, and a future where everyone feels carried along.

“The emergence of SYD from Kwara North has opened another chapter in our conversation about balance, inclusion, and giving every part of Kwara a sense of belonging.”

“We are not gathered here to create a division between Kwara Central, North, or South. We are here to build bridges,” Abdulfatai added.
