2026 poll: Osun APC raises alarm over alleged plan by Accord party to tamper with used election materials

The Osun state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised alarm over an alleged plan by the Accord Party to tamper with election materials used in the just-concluded governorship election in Osun State.
The APC alleged that the desperation of the Osun State chapter of the Accord Party to cover up the alleged rigging of last Saturday’s governorship election could lead to attempts to tamper with the election materials.
The party, in a statement signed by the Osun State APC Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to release the election materials into the custody of the Accord Party pending a forensic examination of the materials.
According to the statement, “Recorded videos of the various units and wards where electoral malpractices orchestrated by the Accord Party especially in the strongholds of the ruling party took place during last Saturday’s governorship election have gone viral to the chagrin of discerning minds in the state and beyond.”
“There were numerous incidents of the jerking up of figures on ballot papers in favour of Governor Ademola Adeleke, which fraudulently earned him the re-election victory he is parading.”
“Information at our disposal shows that the Accord Party has been working frantically to tamper with the election materials in order to work to the answer four clear days after the election.”
“We are imploring the state police command and the Department of State Services (DSS) to swing into action with a view to arresting and prosecuting the Accord Party agents who may be involved in this criminal electoral act.”
“It will be recalled that our governorship campaign Director-General, Honourable Wole Oke, disclosed in an interview on Monday that our party would subject the used INEC documents from the election to forensic examination to ascertain the veracity and authenticity of the controversial governorship victory that Governor Adeleke has been parading.”
“If truly Governor Adeleke won the governorship election convincingly, as he has been making members of the public believe, why alter the figures in the custody of INEC?”
“It is shameful that whoever is aspiring to govern the state is cutting corners to achieve their political aspirations, which is not a good way to act as a role model for the youth.”
“Where did we go wrong in this country? It is disheartening to observe that someone who has been parading a pyrrhic victory is busy running helter-skelter to cover up the tracks of the electoral malpractices that secured the dubious and controversial victory for him.”
“Governor Adeleke’s plight should be a case study for the people of this country to unearth the copious electoral malpractices that secured the controversial governorship election victory that will soon land him in the election tribunal,” it added.
