1st year anniversary: Aiyedatiwa commissions milestone infrastructure, healthcare projects
Ondo state Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has commemorated his first anniversary in office by unveiling a series of landmark road and healthcare projects across the Akoko and Owo regions of Ondo State.
The commissioning ceremonies, which drew significant praise from the state’s traditional institutions, were presented by the Governor as a physical manifestation of a deliberate strategy to overhaul public infrastructure and elevate service delivery for all residents.
Central to the anniversary celebrations was the inauguration of the Aiyegunle–Iwaro Oka Road in Oka-Akoko, alongside an extensive network of internal roads in Owo Local Government Area, including the Opomulero, Iselu, Isuada, Falodun, and Kajola axes.
Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized that these road works are not isolated projects but critical components of a broader development blueprint designed to enhance regional connectivity, stimulate local commerce, and improve the daily mobility of citizens.
He noted that the completion of these routes within a single year demonstrates the administration’s capacity to transition from policy planning to tangible grassroots impact.
The Governor’s infrastructure drive is being executed under the "OUR EASE" policy framework, a governance philosophy that prioritizes infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, education, and commerce as the five pillars of state growth.
Beyond transportation, the anniversary featured a significant boost to the state's medical sector with the commissioning of an upgraded Primary Health Care center and newly constructed staff quarters in Owo.
This facility is part of a massive statewide intervention in which 112 primary healthcare centers are being renovated, with 51 already fully modernized to meet contemporary standards.
The impact of these projects has resonated deeply with the state’s traditional leadership. Monarchs including the Olubaka of Oka and the Olowo of Owo lauded the Governor for his political will in reviving previously abandoned projects and focusing on quality road construction.
According to the traditional rulers, the improved road networks have already begun to bolster safety and reinvigorate business activities within their respective domains, providing a much-needed economic lifeline to local traders and farmers.
As the administration enters its second year, Governor Aiyedatiwa has reaffirmed his commitment to an inclusive development agenda, assuring the populace that project distribution will remain equitable across all senatorial districts.
