Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agencies for ensuring the peaceful and orderly conduct of Saturday’s by-election in the state.
Yusuf described the election as a milestone in the state’s democratic journey, noting the calm atmosphere across polling units reflected the people’s growing political maturity and effective security arrangements.
This is contained in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, in Kano on Saturday.
Yusuf appreciated the residents of Kano Municipal and Ungogo State Constituencies for their cooperation and discipline.
He also and lauded political parties and stakeholders for obeying the extant electoral rules.
The Governor said the election was free of crisis, violence, and manipulation, aligning with his “Kano First Agenda”.
