Confusion over alleged missing ballots delays voting at Dabi Primary School

Confusion and mild drama unfolded at Dabi Primary School in Pai Ward, Kwali Area Council, this morning as INEC officials reportedly arrived late with incomplete voting materials, sparking outrage among observers and residents.

While materials were scheduled for distribution from Bako Primary School, observers noted at 7:45 a.m. that the supplies had yet to arrive and INEC staff were nowhere to be found.

PDP observer Habibu Musa alleged that approximately 830 ballot papers were missing from the expected tally.

Musa noted that the local community refused to participate unless the materials were complete, suggesting that the absence of INEC officials was due to the ongoing discrepancy.

By 8:30 a.m., the atmosphere grew increasingly rowdy as frustrated residents continued to wait for the opportunity to cast their votes.

The tension persisted until an INEC representative arrived around 8:45 a.m. to address the crowd.

APC observer Abduljubril Abdulsallam confirmed the shortage, stating that observers discovered nearly 835 ballots were missing upon arrival.

Party representatives unanimously demanded that the shortfall be rectified before any distribution took place.

While Abdulsallam expressed significant dissatisfaction with the administrative error, characterizing it as a misplacement by INEC officials, he confirmed that the problem was eventually resolved.

Despite the resolution, the initial delay left many voters stranded and dissatisfied with the morning’s proceedings.
